Wilder's holographic notes on an invitational conference held at the University of Toronto on Nov. 25-26, 1922, to discuss the clinical applications of insulin (which had just been isolated) and to determine how best to produce and distribute it. Includes a list of participants, notes on the discussion, a draft of a letter in support, and presentation and discussion of various cases treated with insulin.

Wilder, Russell M. (Russell Morse), 1885-1959

Born in Cincinnati, Russell M. Wilder received a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and an M.D. from Rush Medical College, both in 1912. Because of his expertise in metabolic diseases, Wilder was one of a select few invited to the 1922 conference at the University of Toronto. From 1919 until his death, he was worked primarily for the Mayo Clinic. He was director of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, 1951-1953.
